Our gorgeous bride, Roisin, chose British designer, Caroline Castigliano, for her big day at one of our local wedding venues, Mythe Barn. Roisin was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish! Keep reading to find out about her journey to finding the perfect dress.

How did you feel about the prospect of wedding dress shopping?

I was really looking forward to it but it was also quite daunting especially the thought of having to look at yourself in the mirror all day. You want to look and feel good on your wedding day so that was quite scary too. I wanted to have a fun experience that was enjoyable and soak up as much of the experience as possible.

How did Rachel Ash make you feel special?

All of the advice and knowledge was so helpful. They make the dresses fit you as best as they can during the appointment so you can see what the dress would actually look like on the day. I had been to some other places where they just put you in the dress and didn't even try to make you fit in it which made me feel frumpy and not valued.

What were your favourite parts of the wedding dress shopping experience?

I loved trying on all the dresses (of course!) but actually seeing them in detail and all of the craftsmanship used was so lovely to see. I liked trying on dresses I wouldn't have normally gone for and trying them on with all the different types of veils.

How did you choose your dress? What made you fall in love with it?

It was such a hard decision as I was torn between 2 Caroline dresses from Rachel Ash. In the end, I found I couldn't stop looking at the dress I did get and loved the detailing on it so much. I loved that I could change the bodice colour and customise it with Caroline to make it into my dream dress. And it also had pockets!!!!

Did you have any alterations made to the dress to make it more bespoke? What was this process like?

I had my measurements taken for the dress but ended up losing a little bit more weight so had to have it altered again. The seamtress, Katrina, was amazing and so knowledgeable about everything. She really put me at ease and I had every confidence in her that she would do an amazing job at making my dress fit perfectly.

What advice would you give to other brides about to start their dress buying journey?

Be prepared to try on anything as things you don't think you like on the hangers you may actually love on! Enjoy every minute of it - I wish I could go back and do it all over again!
